A run cycle animation of a Goblin
I animated this run cycle animation as proof of concept. The very talented art team at Psygnosis San Francisco designed these little guys. Because they are meant to constantly run in hoards and destroy everything in their path, they were a very complicated to animate. I was the lead animator on the team, and I animated many different cycles to give these creatures all of their Goblin-like behavior. To create these animations, I used the venerable Lightwave 3D modeler, and Softimage for animating.
This is a run cycle of just one of them. I really enjoyed the process of 3d animation, it had an almost musical rhythm to it. I often consider making it a part of design work I am currently doing.
